Christmas Eve

After sometime down, I’m back… Server upgrade blew my sql tables away and only now I had time (well, time and patiance) to fix that. Well, what can I say…

In the meantime, I bought a Nintendo DS to keep me entertained while waiting in lines, waiting for my grilfirend or other kinds of waiting. It’s nice, it does the trick and it is a lot cheaper than ultra sleek but really expensive Sony PSP. I’m not going to enter in which one is better kind of discussion, because I believe each one serves a different kind of purpose. If you are looking for a handheld device capable of 3d games, just like the ones you play in your computer at home buy PSP. If you are looking to play simple entertaining games, just to pass time you should buy a DS. If you’re still in doubt, check Gamespot.

In the last week, I got the chance to see again Requiem for a Dream, an amazing film from Darren Aronofsky that shows how drug addictions can destroy your dreams in three parallel but related stories. Unforgettable, a must see!

Ok, now that I ‘m in a recommendation mod, I also suggest you guys to listen to an amazing soundtrack: High Fidelity. This movie is a Stephen Frears adaptation of a Nick Hornby’s novel about a middle-aged, obsessive record-store owner and his struggle with growing up in an adult world. Another must see! The soundtrack specializes in cult and indie bands from the last half century. The old school is represented by Velvet Underground, Love, the 13th Floor Elevators, and the Kinks, while Royal Trux, Stereolab, and Smog represent the newest wave. Elvis Costello and John Wesley Harding are the choice to represent the early ’80s. Get your hands on this pearl.
