- Associations
GLUA (Grupo Linux da Universidade de Aveiro) - GLUA is a local linux user group which has the main objective of advertising and promoting Free and Open Source Software (F/OSS), namely solutions based on GNU/Linux. The activities of this association could be summarized as the following:
- Maintains a schedule to support university personnel in Dep. of Electronics and Telecommunications
- Promotion of Open Source software through talks in Universities, Schools, and other organizations
- Organizes Linux Install Parties every year
- Hosts some Open source development projects
- Provides documentation for Linux support inside University of Aveiro
I’ve been colaborating since 2002 with GLUA in their activities, having done several presentations, helping coordinating activities such as Linux Install Parties and other initiatives. I have also collaborated with GLUA’s documentation project (portuguese) and GLUA user’s forum (portuguese), helping newcomers to Linux to have their way simplified. Note: I no longer am an active member of GLUA, but still I keep in contact with the group, helping them whenever it is necessary.
