I’m currently repairing/rebuilding a classic car - an 1969 Opel GT - with my father’s help. Some background information for everybody to undertand what kind of car I’m talking about:
This is a two-seat sports car first produced in the year of 1968. Its styling was unmistakably like the Chevrolet Corvette of that year mainly because both of them were designed by Larry Shinoda. Nevertheless, the GT came first and is regarded as his “Favorite” car ever. This car is equipped with a 1.9-liter inline 4 overhead-cam propulsor, which produces 102hp at 5200 - 5400rpm. The car weights 940Kg and it manages a top speed of 185Km/h. This car has a very particular feature: the operation of the pop-up lights. They are manually operated, by way of a large lever along the center console next to the shifter. Unlike most pop-up headlights they rotate about a longitudinal axis. Another interesting stuff:
Acceleration and fuel economy of GT 1900 (and GT/J):
0 - 50 km/h 3.5 s
0 - 80 km/h 7.4 s
0 - 100 km/h 11.4 s
Acceleration 0 - 400m 17.7 s
Acceleration 0 - 1000m 32.7 s
Average fuel economy 10.7 l/100 km
The work is evolving somewhat slowly, but at least progressing. At this point, we are dealing with carrosery which was in a pretty bad state, with several layers of paint, among many other problems. Hopefully, in the end, I might end up with a car like this one!

Just to say that I have uploaded some pictures from my lastest trips.
The first picture is from a beautiful cathedral in Strasbourg, a city I visited while I was living in Germany.

The second picture is amazing! In the center of Strasbourg, in the middle of the Rhein near the towers… With some repair, I wouldn’t mind living there.

The third one is building is the old Town Hall of Freiburg. Freiburg is very good place to visit, with a lot of sightseeing spots. If you ever there check the cathedral, the old clock and go up in the nearby mountain to check the view! Very nice!

Just check photo album for more pictures.

Conversation with an telephone operator of a portuguese ISP that I won’t say, but i will point.
(skipping the part where I was listening to advertisements for about 10 minutes while waiting)
me - Hello, I’m thinking to install your 2mbit Internet service but i would like some questions answered….
she - OK. I’ll try to answer your questions.
me - OK, I would like to know how much uplink bandwidth is avaible to me in this package.
she - That I don’t know… Do you have any more questions?
me - OK, but can you check it?
she - It’s not written here. Any more questions?
me - I see… Can you ask somebody?
she - No… Any more questions?
me- I only wanted to know that…
she - OK, in that case… If you don’t have any more questions… Have a nice day.
(hanging up)
Nice service, uh?

Really… I’m not happy at all with the look of my little personal site. Ok, I know, this Wordpress almost in it’s pure state, so what am I complaining about? I am planning to do major revolution around here…
Anyway, I also installed DokuWiki, a simple to use Wiki, mainly aimed at creating documentation that I intend use as a personal repository of documentation. And talking about wikis, what about Newton, a desktop wiki applet for the GNOME2 desktop environment. it is pretty useful to enter your notes and information in a simple wiki-like syntax that Newton formats it in rich HTML for you. Kinda useful for fast notes and todo lists.
And now, for a little fun, RFCs published in the 1st April. I specially like the one about Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol (HTCPCP/1.0). Very useful.
Ok, enough for today.

I have to say, as i expected being 25 years old is quite similar to being 24. One day difference just like the day before. Anyway, i am still waiting for the present to make my day special. I would like one of this, one of this and… one of this.
I hope you guys can afford it, if you plan to continue in my friend’s list.
That’s all for now dear friends.

XML is kinda nice. I’m doing a XML version of my CV and using XSLT to transform it into something good looking. My first steps are now visable in this page. Of course it’s not complete, just a small experiment by now. I also plan to do a transformation to PDF, which, as you can imagine is very handy.
And now, for something completly unrelated, I have to announce that I won the weekend match in hattrick by two goals and I am now placed in third in V division (out of 9).
One hour for the 1/4 century age! Urray!
Over and out.
